12 Hour Challenge

Take on the highest three mountains in Yorkshire on this 12-hour challenge

The Yorkshire Three Peaks consists of Pen y Ghent 694m, Ingleborough 723m and Whernside 736m with 25 miles of walking and can be hiked either as individuals and small groups on our open event or as a private event for larger groups, businesses, and charities.

See and hear about the spectacular limestone rock formations formed 300-360 million years ago, waterfalls, unique flora & fauna, the viaduct built in the 1870s, train stations too.

Participation Statement

Due to the nature of the event, it is impossible to eliminate all risk, however through experience, using qualified guides, following Mountain Training Association guidelines we will do our utmost to ensure your safety. It must however be understood that participating in outdoor activities involves some risk of injury. Our guides will take all reasonable care to reduce this risk. As a participant you are required to observe the safety instructions given to you during the event. In the unlikely event that, immediate medical treatment is required you agree that qualified first aid practitioners may carry out appropriate action, and we reserve the right to pass the details supplied to the Emergency Services. All guides used are qualified Mountain Leaders, Insured and hold an Outdoor 1st Aid qualification. Orange John Three Peaks Challenges does not provide event insurance and you are advised (if you wish) to arrange your own appropriate cover.
